Aluminium: world production hits the highest level since 2011

After several months in which world aluminum production remained substantially stable, in the last month of survey (December 2021) there was a new increase on a quantity produced basis (ton).

An analysis of the data on a monthly basis shows a positive change in all geographical areas:

• Africa +6.11%
• Asia (Ex China) +4.56%
• Gulf Cooperation Council +3.61%
• China +1.01%
• North America +4.55%
• South America +3.06%
• West Europe +3.73%
• Oceania +3.90%
• East & Central Europe +3.54%
• World +2.27%

On an annual basis, however, the trend is in contrast:

• Africa +2.96%
• Asia (Ex China) +7.44%
• Gulf Cooperation Council +4.44%
• China -2.68%
• North America -4.73%
• South America +8.6%
• West Europe -1.07%
• Oceania -1.84%
• East & Central Europe -0.28%
• World -0.85%
